The Pennsylvania Mental Health Consumers’ Association (PMHCA) is seeking to fill the position of Recovery Specialist for the association. The Recovery Specialist is responsible for keeping recovery concepts and principles continuously represented to their fellow Community Resource Team (CRT) Members, to the stakeholders and counties involved in the CRT process, and to all consumers, families and providers served.


REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelors degree or equivalent experience in human services field

• Knowledge of the mental health consumer movement

• Knowledge of recovery principles and how to assist in their implementation

• One year providing individual or systems advocacy

• Capable of negotiating with a variety of stakeholders

• Experience in the mental health system, preferably as a primary user of services

• Ability to speak Spanish a plus

• Working knowledge of Community Support Program principles

• Working knowledge of IBM compatible computers, Microsoft Office Suite, including spreadsheet and database programs
